With their second seventh-round pick (No. 198), and presumably their last pick of the draft, the Kings selected center Nic Dowd from Wenatchee of the North American Hockey League. Dowd is 19, listed at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, and was born in Huntsville , Ala. Dowd had 16 goals and 33 assists in 43 games last season.

Dowd who played in the Huntsville Amateur Hockey Association joined the Thunder organization in 2004, also went onto play at the Culver Academy . Dowd played Junior hockey this past season in Wenatchee in the North American Hockey League, where he had a great year.

Nic has recently agreed to a scholarship offer from NCAA Division I St. Cloud State in Minnesota .
