Inclement weather policy. Stay safe everyone!!!

We have festivals scheduled at Cumming, Duluth, Memphis, Huntsville, Pelham (Pensacola host) and Nashville.  Am I the only one that thinks that weather forecasters get a kick back from Kroger, Publix, etc????  My second thought is that I have never seen it so back here in the south that I couldn't go get my milk and bread tomorrow!!  Crazy.

To be more serious, below is the inclement weather policy.  In a nutshell, SYTHL will NOT cancel events.  If a host team makes a decision to cancel the festival based on the rules and checking with the authorities, that is there decision to make.  On the same note, SYTHL doesn't tell teams to come in bad weather nor to stay home.  That is a team and individual family decision.

So, as you can see, don't look for us to give any direction.  There is no way we can.  Our territory is too big to make blanket call and we have all seen that the weather can be a lot better or worse than forecasted.  I have seen teams from the same organization make different decisions on traveling.  Please use your best judgement to keep our families safe and give our kids a chance to play if it can work out.

Travel Rule (Inclement Weather) All League games on the SYTHL master schedule
are to be played as scheduled. In the event that inclement weather is imminent, the
travel directors for the organizations affected should be in contact with each other and
with the various state agencies and media sources as necessary to gather information to
make the most prudent decision. In the interest of the safety of the players, coaches,
families and officials, it is best to err on the side of caution. Every effort must be made
to reschedule the games as soon as possible. Each organization is to leave the weekend
immediately preceding the SYTHL/SAHA playoffs open to fill any weather related
series games. If the home team cannot reschedule the game before the end of the
SYTHL regular season, or the weekend immediately preceding the SYTHL/SAHA Playoffs,
the visiting team may reschedule the games on its own ice with the "home team" paying
for the ice and the officials. If neither team can reschedule the games, all affected
games shall be counted as tied games.

Please keep me informed over the weekend if one of your festivals is cancelled or one of your teams decides not to travel.
